Anytime you decide to upgrade a piece of software, you run the risk of totally messing something up and find something missing. Some users report that their Iphoto libraries are missing.
Two issues could be responsible:
- they misplaced their libraries somewhere in their drive
- the files are corrupted
Restoring Iphoto from Time Machine
If for some reason your library is corrupted and you tried the traditional approaches to fixing it (like the suggestion listed below), the library itself may be corrupted. You may have to use Time Machine to restore everything.
First make sure Iphoto is open and up front before opening up Time Machine
- Open Iphoto on your desktop then open Time Machine. Find photo in TM backed up Iphoto > Select > Restore.
Restoring Iphoto Library
- Command +F to open up the search box

- Make sure KIND is selected, then select SYSTEM FILES or OTHER

- Search
- Finally search for “iPhoto Library” and note it’s location.
- Open iPhoto with the options key held, and select the iPhoto library from the location you found.
