Iphoto is so easy to use and it’s great for storing and organizing your photos instantly and efficiently, why do you think I dedicated a site just for Iphoto? As great as Iphoto is , it does have its are downfalls:
- slow performance especially if you have large collections of photos
- no easy support for multiple libraries
Fortunately there is a solution and it’s called Iphoto Library Manager.
Features of Iphoto Library Manager
- Allows you to create multiple libraries in Iphoto as opposed to one
- You can check detailed information about your albums
- The library can be shared by multiple users on the same computer
- Sync multiple libraries with ipod
- You can automate photo workflow
- Directly import photos into a specific library
- You can switch back and forth between libraries
- You can copy photos to different libraries and be able to retain the information
- You can split a large library into smaller ones
- You can merge multiple libraries into one
- You can rebuild or extract pictures from corrupted libraries
How it Works
This is the main interface for the Iphoto Library Manager. When you first launch it, you’ll just see the main library. You can also add new libraries which will appear on the left.
Main Interface
Preferences
Importing Photos into other libraries
Quite easy to do this just select from an event an import into your new library

Merging Libraries
Iphoto Library Manager allows you to merge multiple libraries into one. So, let’s say you have three different family reunion albums. You can merge all of those into your “Family Function” Library.
Syncing Photos From Multiple Libraries to Ipod
With multiple libraries, you can only sync one album at at time. You can use Itunes to help you.

Recently Added Features
With Iphoto 9, Iphoto Library works with Faces and Places so that you can make the most of this useful application.
